Hitch Jewelry Collection

A new expression of Bond Hardware’s iconic design.

In 2017 Bond Hardware transitioned from a mid-market costume jewelry company to a fine jewelry company.

The brand’s most popular and well-known collection, based on hitching-post hardware, needed an update. Working within Bond’s existing design language, I helped create this four piece collection with the elevated aesthetics necessary for the brand’s new market. In addition, I sourced options for a more responsible supply chain.

All of the jewelry pieces I designed for the Hitch Collection.

Design Improvements

Fine Jewelry Construction

The main bodies are single, cast pieces, hand-polished, with hand-soldered jump rings.

Unified Design Language

The previous collection was developed over a long period by different designers and had pieces executed in different design languages.

Superior Lifespan & Sustainability

Made from long-lasting, USA produced 304 stainless steel instead of plated base metals. Cast in NYC. Meant to last a lifetime, but able to be laterally recycled due to the lack of plating or other finishes.

Improved Functional Details

The mouthguard slide, which originally had no means of being secured, is now tension fit. It has also had unnecessary material removed to reduce it’s weight & cost.
